Tarot - Arcanum No. 18

Arcanum No. 18 is Light and Shadow, White Magic and Black Magic, this is found represented in the Black Dog and the White Dog, the Black Pyramid and the White Pyramid. In the Arcanum 18 we have to win very bloody battles against the Tenebrous ones. "Heaven is taken by storm". "The valiant have taken it". In the Internal Worlds the Tenebrous ones of the Arcanum 18 violently attack the student.

This path is full of dangers both from within and from without. Many are those who begin, few are those who arrive. The majority strays onto the Black Path. In the Arcanum 18 there are very subtle dangers that the student ignores.

The Number 9 is Positive and Negative at the same time, this is the Mystery of Arcanum 18. In this terrible Arcanum we find all the potions and Witchcraft of Thessaly. If we add 9 + 9 = 18. The number “9” is twice contained in the Arcanum 18, within these two nines there is a balance, one nine is the Positive Aspect and the other nine is the Negative Aspect; but 18 results Negative and fatal within itself; it represents the Secret Enemies of the Arcanum of the Twilight. This is because in the work of the Ninth Sphere one has to fight immensely, because one has to learn how to sublimate the Sexual Energy; the key or the clue of all the empires is here.

In the Arcanum 18 the Ninth Sphere is twice repeated. We already know that the number 1 is Positive and the number 2 is Negative. Thus, if we repeat the Ninth Sphere for the first time and then for the second time, we will have the two aspects of the Sex: Positive and Negative. Now you can understand why the Arcanum 18 is Light and Darkness, White Magic and Black Magic. In the Arcanum 18 we find the Secret Enemies of Initiation.

In the “Divine Comedy” the dog Cerberus, the Sex, which we must take out of the Tartarus to the “Sun”, is spoken of. This is the Ascension of the Sexual Forces in us, Sexual Forces that must be raised by us and the “I” must be eliminated. This is the basis for the Intimate Self-Realization of the Being. This is the struggle between Light and Darkness in the Arcanum 18.

This terrible struggle is affirmated in the Three Tantric schools that are dedicated to Sex.

1. White Tantrism. Connection of the Lingam-Yoni without the ejaculation of the Ens Seminis. This leads us to the ascension of Kundalini and to Self-Realization.
2. Black Tantrism. It exists ejaculation of the Ens Seminis during the Maithuna in order to develop the Kundabuffer Organ.
3. Grey Tantrism. Working sometimes with ejaculations and sometimes without ejaculations, working solely for the enjoyment of sexual pleasure but with the imminent danger of falling into Black Tantrism.

When reaching the Arcanum 18, we find ourselves before the dilemma of “To be or not to Be”. No one can attain Self-Realization without the practice of Maithuna. One has to awaken Consciousness because without the Consciousness awake the Path is abandoned as there is no seriousness.

We must warn the Gnostic Student that the most dangerous potion which the Tenebrous ones utilize in order to withdraw the Student from the Path of the Razor’s Edge is the Intellect.

• Forecasting Element: "It promises instability, inconstancy, traps, confusion, changes, uncertain situations, long deliberations, unexpected impediments, belated results, apparent triumphs and failures".

SYNTHESIS:

• He who defeats Satan in Sex, defeats him in all of his aspects.
• Taking out the dog Cerberus means the liberation of the Sexual Energy, the use of it in a transcendental form.
• The eyes are the windows of the Soul. The man who allows himself to be driven by the eyes of all women will have to resign to live in the Abyss.
• There are women who practice sorcery against men. These victims must incessantly defend themselves with the Conjurations of the Four and Seven.
• We can defend ourselves against witchcraft by invoking our Elemental Intercessor. The Elemental Intercessor must be called with all of our heart at bedtime.
