Tarot - Arcanum No. 1

The Arcanum No.1 is "The Magus", that which Initiates, that which begins, it is the One, the Unity, the Divine Spirit of each person, the Monad or the Immortal Spark of every human being, of every creature. The One is the Mother of all Unities, the One unfolds itself into the following Arcanum: the Priestess, Arcanum No. 2.

It is easy to understand that every beginning is difficult, we have to work hard, we need to sow in order to reap, this is why in the Arcanum No. 1 we find the Unity of the Original Principle, The origin of every Unity comes from the Arcanum No. 1 because everything begins with the No. 1.

The Unity becomes the origin of Duality, or of the Binary, 1 + 1 = 2, and finally in this Unity is found the performing synthesis of the Ternary. The Unity, the “1”, is the Divine Monad, the First Logos, the Father who is in secret, and each one of us has his own individual Monad.

This Arcanum gives aptitude in order to resolve problems. It grants power as much for awakening as for dominating passions in the Physical World. It tends towards the organization of the natural elements and towards domination of the forces in movement. It gives aptitude in order to acquire, dispose, modulate and apply.

Arcanum No.1 is the Unity, the Principle of the Light, the Father, the World as a manifestation, the Human Being as a living unity, complete within himself, the Foundation of Reason of all actions, the Synthesis of all, the Initiation into the Mysteries and the power to decipher and to be served by them, the Volitional Power. Arcanum No. 1 gives Triumph, but with struggles, due to Karma.

• Kabbalistic Sephiroth: „KETHER”
• Hebrew Letter: „ALEPH”
• Transcendental Axiom: „Be in your deeds as you are in your thoughts.”
• Forecasting Element: "It predicts dominion of material obstacles, new social relations, happy initiatives, the concourse of loyal friends who help the development of projects, and jealous friends who obstruct it."

SYNTHESIS:

• This Arcanum, the Magus, represents the Man. It is the Masculine Principle.
• The No. 1 signifies that which starts, that which begins.

• The Unity is the performing synthesis of the Ternary.
• We cannot know anything about the Soul and Spirit when we do not know ourselves.
• The four conditions that are needed to be a Magus are the following:
  • TO KNOW HOW TO SUFFER
  • TO KNOW HOW TO BE SILENT
  • TO KNOW HOW TO ABSTAIN
  • TO KNOW HOW TO DIE
